'Welcome to Kelowna’ Bear Vinyl Sticker

Despite being a generally unsuitable habitat for Grizzly Bears, the animal is very special to those that live here. The city's name, "Kelowna" is a bastardized form of the Syilx word for "Grizzly Bear", although there are several different stories of how this came to be known by early settlers.

Even with black bears being a far more common sighting in the area, Grizzly Bears remain highly important to the area. And they're pretty cute, too.
