This fundraising campaign is aimed at uniting the community in recognizing the work that they do, and show our appreciation that while many have during the pandemic had the opportunity to work from home, to choose which environments we wish to be in; our health care workers did not and do not have that flexibility. These individuals have continued to show up and take care of our community and ensure we have a safe space to attend to when those in our community need them.
#WEAPPLAUD acknowledges and gives thanks to our health care workers.
Kelowna City Councillor Loyal Wooldridge and local entrepreneur Christina Ferreira of Impact Events encourage everyone to come together and demonstrate gratitude in these turbulent and polarizing times by supporting the campaign by purchasing a pin.
The campaign is asking the community to proudly wear the pin with pride to celebrate and support the selfless warriors who continue to give, in health care and community settings. The sacrifices made for the safety and welfare of humanity is priceless and deserves lifelong gratitude and respect. We applaud.
Net proceeds from the sale of the pins will go to the Kelowna General Hospital
Foundation to help with mental health programs for health care workers.
